Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this vital role, you will prepare and assemble delicious meals with precision and care, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your culinary skills will contribute to creating a positive dining experience for our guests while maintaining efficient kitchen operations.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and storage spaces
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all food items
- Support the team during busy service hours by efficiently managing meal prep tasks
- Assist with catering orders and special event meal preparations as needed
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any issues promptly
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment demonstrating strong culinary skills
- Knowledge of menu planning, food handling, and meal preparation techniques
- Proficiency with knife skills and food safety standards required for safe food handling
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills
