About This Role
This line cook position involves preparing food items according to standard recipes and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The role requires coordination with dining room staff and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Prepares food items following standard recipes and menu plans to ensure quality and consistency
- Handles food prep tasks including washing, cutting, and cooking ingredients
- Tests food for proper preparation using tasting, smelling, and visual inspection
- Maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation per health regulations
- Coordinates with dining room staff and communicates orders effectively
- Completes prep sheets, side duties, and follows opening/closing procedures
- Operates kitchen equipment safely and maintains assigned areas
- Participates in scheduled training programs
- Follows SOP guidelines and maintains strict confidentiality at all times
Requirements
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Must have basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items, to standard, in a high-volume, fast-paced operation
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the application of sanitation procedures
Nice to have:
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Line Cook
