About This Role
This part-time Lifeguard position involves overseeing the safety of employees and customers, reporting directly to the General Manager. The role plays a key part in maintaining a safe environment for students, parents, and staff, and suits someone passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment, or instruction to management
- Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements (i.e., safety distances, holds, turning backs, etc.)
- Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
- Prepare appropriate incident reports
- Always present a professional and engaging attitude
- Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills
- Deliver a world-class experience by ensuring a safe environment for swimmers
Requirements
- Lifeguard Certification is required and must be maintained during time of employment (provided by company)
- Current CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained (provided by company)
- Expected to learn the curriculum to include all safety aspects within 30 days of employment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents
- Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods
