About the role
Role Overview: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a skilled nursing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and follow physical therapy treatment plans for diverse patient populations with orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-acute needs.
- Chart patient progress accurately and timely, utilizing therapy software effectively.
- Assist in patient mobilization, evacuation, and ensure safety and sanitation protocols are maintained.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient goals and improve quality of life.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
- Current licensure or registration in the applicable state, maintained in good standing.
- Preferred one year experience in post-acute care or related settings.
- CPR certification, obtained upon hire or during orientation, with ongoing validity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to demonstrate good body mechanics and physical stamina.
Additional Duties: Engage in community health initiatives, uphold professional standards, and participate in ongoing training. The role emphasizes excellent customer service and dependable attendance in a patient-centered environment .
