About This Role
This role involves conducting comprehensive inspections of residential properties to ensure they meet quality standards, safety regulations, and client expectations. You will apply your expertise in construction processes, blueprint reading, and quality control to provide accurate assessments and detailed reports, helping homeowners and buyers make informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections of residential properties, including structural elements, roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, and foundations
- Utilize blueprint reading and schematics to assess construction quality and identify potential issues
- Conduct quality control and quality inspection checks throughout the inspection process to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards
- Collect detailed data during inspections, documenting findings with photographs, notes, and measurements for comprehensive reporting
- Analyze construction plans, contracts, and schematics to verify adherence to building codes and specifications
- Evaluate construction site conditions and oversee construction inspection activities when necessary
- Communicate clearly with clients about inspection results, highlighting key issues and recommended actions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to home inspections
Requirements
- Valid license as a Home Inspector issued by the appropriate state or regulatory authority
- Proven experience in construction, construction management, or related fields with hands-on construction site experience
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and pipeline systems within residential structures
- Excellent analysis skills with keen attention to detail for quality control and quality inspection tasks
- Familiarity with construction inspection procedures and construction site safety protocols
- Ability to interpret contracts, technical documents, and data collection tools effectively
- Exceptional communication skills for explaining technical findings clearly to clients and team members
