Licensed Elevator Technician

About This Role

The Licensed Elevator Technician performs routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on elevators and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role is based in the Washington DC–Baltimore Area and involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, troubleshooting system malfunctions, and replacing or adjusting components. The technician collaborates with dispatch, supervisors, and customers to schedule service, explain findings, and recommend solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on elevators and related equipment
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions
• Replace or adjust components
• Document all work performed
• Collaborate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers to schedule service, explain findings, and recommend solutions
• Adhere to safety standards, local and national codes, and company procedures
• Maintain accurate service records
• Participate in ongoing technical training

Requirements

• Demonstrated skills in Elevator Maintenance and Elevators, with experience performing scheduled inspections and preventative service
• Strong Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical and electrical systems, including diagnosing faults and implementing effective repairs
• Working knowledge of Electricity, with the ability to read electrical diagrams and safely work on control systems and wiring
• Hands-on Maintenance & Repair skills, including component replacement, adjustments, and system testing
• Valid elevator technician license or certification in accordance with local and state requirements
• Proven commitment to safety, compliance with applicable codes, and adherence to company policies
• Ability to work on-site in the Washington DC–Baltimore Area, including occasional overtime or emergency call-outs as needed
• Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and supervisors
• Physical capability to lift equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks at various heights
