Library Branch Manager

About This Role

Managing the overall administration of a branch library is the core of this role, including planning and oversight of its budget, operations, staff, facility, and grounds. This position provides and promotes library services for citizens in Pinal County through the use of emerging and new technologies, and manages and performs library operations and service activities at a branch library location.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall administration of a branch library
• Plan and oversee a library branch’s budget, operations, staff, facility, and grounds
• Provide and promote services of a library branch for citizens in Pinal County through the use of emerging and new technologies
• Manage and perform library operations and service activities at a branch library location
• Develop and implement plans, goals, programs, and procedures for a branch library
• Perform collection development and select and order new materials for the library collection
• Manage and supervise staff, including scheduling, training, disciplining, and conducting performance evaluations
• Direct staff in implementing library services programs to address community needs
• Respond to and resolve patron complaints and concerns
• Engage with patrons to understand community needs and desires for future library services
• Develop, create, and implement policies and procedures and interpret applicable federal, state, and county policies
• Prepare and submit library budget proposals
• Administer, manage, and monitor operating budgets
• Coordinate regular maintenance or repairs to library branch facility
