Library Assistant, Circulation

About This Role

This position plays a key role in delivering excellent service to patrons across the library's locations. The Library Assistant will join the Circulation team, focusing on customer service and managing library materials.

Responsibilities

• Check library materials in and out
• Shelve and organize materials
• Assist patrons with basic inquiries
• Maintain circulation records using the library's computerized management system
• Prepare materials for circulation
• Support library displays and programs

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills
• Proficiency with computers in a Windows environment
• Ability to learn and use the library's computerized management system
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to travel to various library branch locations

Important Details

• Schedule: 25 hours per week, day, evening, and weekend hours required; schedule may vary, flexibility to cover last-minute changes needed
