Bio
The photography artist, Leyla EMEKTAR was born in Adana. After completing her primary, secondary and high education in this city, she graduated from Çukurova University, Art Department of Faculty of Fine Arts. She started her career as Visual Arts Teacher and she is still pursuing her job. She taught part time at Kocaeli University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography.
She takes part as a member of jury in many national and international photography competitions. She keeps working on Creative Photography.
Awards, Publications & Exhibitions
- In 2013, by the Digital Arts Museum in California, her artworks were given Stellar Art Awards.
- In 2015, in the documentary portfolio competition organized by China HPA and Unesco –the official partner-, by achieving a great success she was invited to China.
- Winning “The Alfred Fried Photography Award” which is held in Austria, she was invited to the Ceremony of Peace Photography and she became one of five photographers who deserved to get Peace Photography Prize in 2016.
- Her artwork was perenially taken to the Parliament Museum in Austria.
- In the International Photography Festival that is held in Siena, 2016, among 127 countries and 45000 photographs, she deserved to get the first prize, she was invited to Italy and brought Pangea Prize to her country.
- In the years 2010, 2012, 2014, she got the Success Prize for three times in the Government Photography Contest in the section of Creative Works.
- Together with Professor Güler Ertan, she has compiled and published Turkish anthology of photography in a 374-page book since 1960.
- Her personal interviews were published in the leading International Photography Magazines.
- In 2017, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum international photography award (HIPA) received award in the category of digital manipulation.
- In 2017, Xposure Sharjah International photography award received award in the category of photojournalism.
- In 2018, Xposure Sharjah International photography award received award in the category of digital manipulation.
- In 2018, she has won many awards including Şinasi Barutçu Cup, which is a prestige Cup of Turkey.
- In 2018, she became one of the ten photographers invited to China, ranking in the documentary photography contest organized in China with the motto of the world's 10 best photographers.
- In 2018, she won the grand prize at the global photography competition in Japan and was invited to Japan.
- She was invited to the DongGang International Photo Festival held in Seoul in 2019 and her photographs were exhibited in Seoul during the festival.

White Infinity | View on OpenSea I went on a photo trip this winter northeast. Where I went, the snow was so intense that the roofs of the buildings were not visible. Ways they open. People could not pass any places other than the walking paths. I watched in amazement. The villages I went to were living with livestock. He reminded me of living in a vicious circle in a narrow space. I tried to explain the lives of the villagers who could not go anywhere except the fleeting road they opened. Children and dreams | View on OpenSea The purest era of mankind is childhood and the clarity of dreams represents the innocence. Based on this idea, I tried to describe the good manner that deteriorate as we grow up. I photographed the children who are afraid of being homeless, preparing for life with exams, playing games unaware of the evils, and the longing for nature in the concrete world. I drew pictures on the ground using colored chalk with the help of my students. This project has been created between 2015 and 2017 in Kocaeli/Turkey.
