Legal Secretary

About This Role

This legal secretarial role supports a Wills and Probate fee earner at a law firm in central Brighton. It suits an experienced professional who can provide accurate secretarial support and professional client care, handling sensitive enquiries with care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing
• Open, maintain, close, and retrieve client files
• Manage appointments, meetings, and the fee earner's diary
• Assist clients by telephone and in person, handling sensitive enquiries with care
• Prepare mail and enclosures and support general office administration
• Work with colleagues and maintain the confidentiality of client and firm information

Requirements

• At least two years’ legal secretarial experience within Wills and Probate
• Accurate audio typing and strong written English
• Confident IT skills and experience of maintaining legal files
• Good organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise your workload
• A professional, sensitive approach to client care
• Availability to undertake a nine-month maternity cover contract
