Legal Assistant - Magistrate/Criminal Division

About This Role

This Legal Assistant position supports the Magistrate/Criminal Division by preparing and processing various legal documents and managing case schedules. The role suits an organized individual with knowledge of courtroom procedures and legal terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process various motions, orders, and court-related documents
• Schedule all cases and legal proceedings
• Perform various clerical and administrative duties
• Assume the functions of other employees as necessary

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Working knowledge of standard office and courtroom procedures and legal terminology
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and files
• Knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Ability to type with speed and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of office procedures and practices
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen

Nice to have:

• Associate degree or professional certificate in paralegal or related field

• Schedule: Monday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Tuesday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
