Legal Assistant, AWS Legal

About This Role

This legal assistant role supports the Amazon Web Services Products Legal team by providing administrative assistance. The position involves drafting correspondence, coordinating agreement execution, maintaining legal contracts, and improving processes, suiting a smart and self-motivated individual.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end execution of commercial agreements across the APJ region, including tracking signature workflows and maintaining contract databases
• Draft and send routine correspondence to business teams regarding contract status, next steps, and outstanding items
• Maintain and organize legal contract repositories, ensuring documents are accurately filed and easily retrievable
• Prepare weekly and monthly status reports on contract pipeline, open matters, and team workload
• Manage calendaring, scheduling, and logistics for the legal team
• Track and reconcile team budget and vendor invoices
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase team efficiency
• Coordinate with business groups on administrative and legal matters, serving as a reliable point of contact

Requirements

• 1+ years of professional or military experience
• 1+ years of administrative assistant experience
• Knowledge of basic computer business applications such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
• Experience handling confidential information

Nice to have:

• Experience in contract management
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
