Legal Assistant

About This Role

Working as a Legal Assistant, you will support the daily operations of the workers' compensation defense team, assisting assigned attorneys in effective file management. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, stays organized, and is comfortable with technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in all phases of workers’ compensation defense litigation
• Manage and organize case files, including (primarily) electronic and paper records
• Coordinate and manage discovery, including the collection, review, and production of documents
• Draft, review, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
• Maintain and update case calendars by tracking deadlines and scheduling hearings, depositions, and meetings
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, medical providers, and opposing counsel to gather information and provide updates
• Perform administrative tasks, such as copying, scanning, and digital filing

Requirements

• Experience in an administrative role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and communicative
