Leasing Consultant

About This Role

This essential role contributes to the leasing process, resident services, and community development for a residential community with 268 units. The Leasing Consultant provides a high level of customer service and assists the property manager in efforts to help maximize occupancy.

Responsibilities

• Understand the property's rental rates, special promotions, and availability
• Be well informed of existing market conditions and competing rental properties
• Lease vacant units by qualifying prospective residents in accordance with company standards and Fair Housing guidelines
• Oversee ongoing resident and lease-related issues, including coordinating with maintenance staff on work orders, move-in, and move-out inspections
• Handle rental income and issue late fee/eviction notices as needed
• Inspect all pre-leased apartments prior to scheduled move-ins
• Show vacant apartments to prospective residents
• Record all traffic (e.g., internet leads, walk-ins, or phone calls) and enter into Yardi on a daily basis
• Conduct outreach marketing to local businesses near the area
• Understand and use internet marketing tools (Craigslist, Facebook, Instagram, e-mail, and other websites)

Requirements

• 2 years of experience
• General computer skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor on-site

Nice to have:

• Previous lease-up experience
• Yardi experience
• CRM experience
• AA degree or equivalent education
• Formal industry training or certifications
• Bilingual
