Duties
The individual selected for this position will:
- Monitor interviewers, provide feedback to improve or commend performance based on standard and consistent guidelines, and complete interviewer monitoring forms.
- Provide assistance to interviewer staff with both general and specific problems or difficult calls and serve as a troubleshooter.
- Perform interviewing assignments, and contact previous refusals in order to persuade the individual to cooperate by providing explanations of the confidentiality and uses of the survey data.
- Assist in training on an as-needed basis, document and provide management with suggestions for improvement to the training approaches, survey instruments, computer screens, and other operational elements.
- Report to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employees and on disciplinary problems.
- As required, review information for completeness, edits, or otherwise assist in clerical processing.
- In the absence of a JCC Supervisor may assume supervisory responsibilities for short, non-recurring periods of time.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: You qualify at the GS-05 level if you possess one year of specialized experience that equips you with the skills needed to perform the job duties. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the grade 04 level to meet the qualification requirements in the Federal Service. Examples include experience performing telephone interviews, the use of appropriate probing and verification techniques, and recording of data on a questionnaire or computer.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college or university may be substituted for the required experience for the grade 05. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet qualifications.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations, (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
