About the role

Duties

Assure work assignments of the other employees of the group are carried out by performing a range of duties.

Review assigned probates, probate modifications, and non-probate conveyance documents to ensure accuracy of individual identification numbers.

Inspect and file computer produced land indexes (125's), Title Status Reports (TSR's) (188's) ownership data and land descriptions.

Operate programmable data systems processors, personal computer, calculators, fraculator, permanent repository program systems of legal documentation and electronic communication devices.

Scan recorded title documents to the TAAMS imaging System.  Electronically file, organize and index documents to the system.

Qualifications

GS-9:  1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level.

Examples of specialized experience are, but not limited to;  receiving and reviewing a variety of legal instruments including probate orders, probate order modifications, rights-of-way, easements, surface and sub-surface leases, mortgages and determine purpose of legal instruments. Utilizing computer software systems, for encoding legal instruments information, into TAAMS. Reviewing documents to determine accuracy on probates, deeds and encumbrances.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. In addition to courses in the major and related fields, a typical college degree would have included courses that involved analysis, writing, critical thinking, research, etc. These courses would have provided an applicant with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation. Therefore, creditable experience should have demonstrated similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the occupation.

Part-Time or Unpaid Experience: Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience regardless of whether compensation was received or whether the experience was gained in a part-time or full-time occupation. Full-time work is generally considered to be 35 to 40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
