About This Role
Leading the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential and light commercial settings is the core of this role. This position is for a skilled and motivated individual who takes pride in their work, can solve problems in the field, and wants to be a valued team member. The role involves complete system installation, ductwork, refrigerant piping, condensate piping, basic 24-volt controls, and heat pump installation.
Responsibilities
- Install complete HVAC systems in residential and light commercial settings
- Install and replace furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, coils, and related equipment
- Install ductwork, refrigerant piping, condensate piping, venting, and basic low-voltage controls
- Perform clean brazing practices, including proper nitrogen purging while brazing
- Assist with heat pump installations, commissioning, and basic system setup
- Use a voltmeter for basic electrical testing and troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot basic HVAC system issues in the field
- Read and follow job scopes, installation instructions, and company procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas
- Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and management
- Provide excellent customer service and represent Johnny O Mechanical in a professional manner
- Help with preventative maintenance, service-related tasks, and other necessary duties as needed
- Work safely and follow all company and job-site safety standards
- Take pride in quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Strong HVAC installation experience
- Ability to install complete HVAC systems from start to finish
- Knowledge of ductwork, refrigerant piping, condensate piping, and basic 24-volt controls
- Ability to braze properly and purge with nitrogen while brazing
- Ability to use a voltmeter for basic troubleshooting
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think through field conditions
- Ability to multitask and adapt when job conditions change
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professional appearance
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work well with others
- HVAC Installation: 5 years (Required)
