Lead Financial Management Specialist

Duties

You will:

• Lead and direct a staff of financial specialists providing grants financial management services.

• Perform continuous oversight and review to determine validity and accuracy of accounting records and applications of accounting control.

• Resolve complex operational problems associated with daily operations and duties assigned to branch personnel.

• Review changes in Agency, Treasury policies, and government-wide regulations to advise the Director of future impacts on Las-Vegas Financial Center (LVFC)'s mission.

You do not need a degree to qualify for this position.

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:

To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as providing policy procedures related to financial management activities; provide consultation financial management and accounting activities.

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of financial management;
2. Knowledge of Federal policies, and procedures related to grant management;
3. Ability to analyze financial data;
4. Knowledge of financial reporting policies and procedures;
5. Knowledge of government accounting reporting policies and procedures;
6. Skill in oral communication sufficient to convey complex information to a variety of audiences;
7. Skill in written communication sufficient to convey agency guidance to high-level management;
8. Ability to supervise federal employees.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
