Lead, Deli/Bakery

Role Overview The position involves leading daily department operations in a retail store, primarily in the absence of the department manager. Responsibilities include managing inventory, supervising staff, ensuring product quality and freshness, and maintaining store standards. The role also encompasses implementing company policies, supporting staffing, training, and performance management, and contributing to department goals and forecasts.

Key Duties

• Oversee inventory control, ordering, and product presentation.
• Validate received shipments and ensure proper storage.
• Lead team tasks such as stocking, production, and quality assurance.
• Maintain product knowledge and support promotional activities.
• Execute weekly plans and manage scheduling, labor, and payroll.
• Uphold food safety, safety guidelines, and cleanliness standards.
• Assist in developing department strategies to meet KPIs and goals.
• Participate in meetings and communicate effectively with team members.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of retail operations and management systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish are desirable.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks.
