About the role
Role Overview: This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical CT procedures, including advanced protocols like TAVR and Cardiac CTA, ensuring safe, high-quality imaging while providing compassionate patient care. The technologist sets up equipment, positions patients, administers contrast media, and reviews images for diagnostic quality. They operate independently, demonstrating judgment, ingenuity, and technical proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify orders, obtain patient history, and assess contraindications.
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort during procedures.
- Apply sterile techniques, perform venipuncture, and administer contrast media.
- Operate imaging equipment, optimize radiation doses, and maintain equipment standards.
- Post-process images, verify calibration, and ensure timely study submission.
- Assist in training, mentoring, and supervising staff in the absence of leadership.
- Maintain departmental workflow, supplies, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with patients effectively, addressing concerns and providing instructions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT Radiography (ARRT-R) and CT (ARRT-CT) certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience with at least 1 year in CT.
- Strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of anatomy, pathology, radiation safety, and quality control protocols.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and as part of a team.
- Leadership qualities for mentoring and departmental oversight in absence of supervisor.
