Role Overview: The Radiologic Technologist specializes in performing diagnostic CT procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high-quality imaging. They operate advanced equipment, set up protocols including TAVR and Cardiac CTA, and independently manage job functions with judgment and initiative. The role includes mentoring staff, overseeing departmental workflows, and collaborating with leadership on protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform age-appropriate patient care, verify orders, and obtain clinical histories.
- Administer contrast media safely, ensure accurate patient identification, and review images for diagnostic quality.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and adhere to infection control standards.
- Produce consistent, high-quality images, submit studies promptly, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure care, maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
- Manage departmental operations, including supply stocking, patient transport, and clerical duties.
- Provide training and mentorship to fellow technologists, participate in departmental meetings, and support process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills: Candidates must have completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program, hold ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, and BLS certification. A minimum of 2 years clinical experience, including 1 year in CT, is required. Strong communication, multitasking, customer service, and independent working skills are essential. Proficiency in advanced protocols and teaching abilities are highly valued.
