About the role
Role Overview: The CT Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including advanced protocols such as TAVR, Cardiac CTA, and lung screenings. They set up equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality images while maintaining safety and patient comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify clinician orders, assess patient history, and administer contrast media safely.
- Obtain and review diagnostic images, ensuring accuracy before release.
- Respond to emergencies, monitor patient condition, and provide pre- and post-procedure care.
- Operate imaging equipment, adjust techniques to minimize radiation dose, and perform quality control checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized department and support operational efficiency.
- Mentor fellow technologists, participate in process improvements, and support regulatory compliance.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and physicians, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
Qualifications & Skills
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT Radiography (ARRT-R) and CT (ARRT-CT) certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical patient care experience and 1 year in CT.
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to operate all CT equipment, perform advanced protocols, and mentor others.
- Proficiency in radiation safety, anatomy, pathology, and quality control.
Additional Requirements: Valid BLS certification, proficiency in patient positioning, infection control, and adherence to hospital policies. The role involves independent judgment, multitasking, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and image quality.
