About This Role

Joining the Corporate Legal team within Macquarie's Legal and Governance Group, this role supports a global financial regulatory practice, focusing on banking, prudential, and ESG-related requirements. You will provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of financial regulatory matters, working closely with various stakeholders globally to implement regulatory developments. This position offers exposure to transactional work and opportunities to develop commercial acumen through partnerships with finance and treasury teams.

Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of financial regulatory matters, including banking and prudential regulation, as well as evolving ESG-related requirements
• Work closely with legal, governance, finance, risk, and business stakeholders globally
• Provide strategic legal advice to support the implementation of regulatory developments impacting the group
• Contribute across a diverse portfolio of work, including group structuring initiatives, capital and funding transactions, and broader corporate matters
• Support internal governance, approval, and risk management processes for regulatory and transactional matters
• Instruct and manage relationships with external counsel, including coordinating legal advice across jurisdictions

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ PQE gained in private practice or an in-house environment
• Experience or a strong interest in financial regulation and general corporate or banking & finance transactional environment
• High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment whilst proactively taking ownership for projects and meeting deadlines
• Strong communication skills, capable of quickly understanding and conveying complex legal and regulatory issues
• Ability to effectively influence senior management and stakeholders
