About the role

Position Summary JOB DESCRIPTION The Trade Compliance Manager will support the Latin America region by ensuring compliance with applicable import, export, customs, sanctions, and international trade regulations. The role will act as a key advisor to business and functional teams, providing guidance on trade compliance requirements, risk mitigation, regulatory developments, classifications, and compliance systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on import and export compliance, including HTS and ECCN classifications, sanctions, restricted party screening, deemed exports, country of origin, and anti-boycott requirements.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise business teams on applicable trade compliance requirements.
  • Conduct restricted party screening, due diligence reviews, and trade compliance assessments.
  • Support product classification and trade compliance system administration.
  • Develop and deliver trade compliance training.
  • Coordinate and document compliance activities and programs.
  • Support implementation and auditing of trade compliance standards across Latin America.
  • Manage import/export requirements, including documentation, Free Trade Agreements, duty drawback, and other duty-saving opportunities.
  • Participate in audits involving imports, exports, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
  • Lead or support cross-functional initiatives related to trade compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, including import, export, and sanctions.
  • Experience with HTS and ECCN classifications.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations, country-of-origin requirements, FTA/FTZ rules, and international trade regulations.
  • Experience with ERP or trade compliance systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, OTM/GTM, or equivalent.
  • Advanced/Fluent English, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced Spanish is desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and functions.
  • Availability for domestic and international travel, approximately 10%.
  • Availability to work on-site at the Rio de Janeiro office/base, located in Barra da Tijuca.
  • Oil & Gas and/or Oilfield Services experience is preferred.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain experience is preferred.
