About This Role
Designing, developing, and maintaining robust, secure, and scalable web applications using the Laravel framework is the core of this role. You will play an important part in building reliable software solutions for clients, from developing APIs and database-driven applications to troubleshooting complex issues and optimizing application performance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality web applications using Laravel
- Develop clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented PHP/Laravel code following industry best practices
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party APIs and services
- Work with Laravel features such as Routing, Middleware, Eloquent ORM, Blade Templates, Authentication, Validation, Queues, Events, and Notifications
- Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases using MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar database technologies
- Identify and resolve application bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities
- Integrate front-end components with server-side application logic
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and coding standards
- Use Git or other version-control systems for collaborative development
- Maintain and enhance existing Laravel applications based on business requirements
- Stay updated with the latest Laravel, PHP, and web development technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in PHP and Laravel web development
- Strong hands-on experience with the Laravel Framework
- Strong understanding of PHP and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
- Good knowledge of Laravel architecture and the MVC design pattern
- Experience with Eloquent ORM, Blade Templates, Middleware, Authentication, Validation, and Laravel migrations
- Experience developing and integrating REST APIs
- Strong knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Experience with front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and jQuery
- Familiarity with AJAX and JSON
- Experience using Git/GitHub/GitLab or similar version-control systems
- Understanding of application security, performance optimization, and database optimization
- Knowledge of deployment environments, Linux servers, Apache/Nginx, and cloud hosting will be an added advantage
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
