About This Role
Mita Realty is building its first dedicated landscape design function and is looking for a mid-level Landscape Designer to lead it. You will design outdoor spaces across hospitality, townships, public spaces, residential and commercial projects, taking each from concept through to execution. You will also be a visible face of the company with clients, so strong design judgement and confident presentation matter equally.
Responsibilities
- Understand client briefs, budgets and site conditions, and translate them into concepts, mood boards and master plans
- Develop planting plans, hardscape layouts, pathways, seating, water features and outdoor lighting
- Select materials, finishes and plants suited to the site, climate and use
- Present concepts and 3D visuals to clients and incorporate their feedback
- Join client meetings and site discussions, and explain design decisions clearly
- Prepare working drawings, material specifications and BOQs
- Coordinate with architects, civil, MEP and irrigation teams so the landscape works with the building, drainage and services
- Visit sites to check that work matches the drawings and resolve issues on the spot
- Review contractor quality and progress, and coordinate with vendors and nurseries
- Support handover and, where relevant, advise on maintenance
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Horticulture or a related design field
- 4-7 years of experience in landscape design, with at least 2 projects led from concept to completion
- A strong portfolio showing good design sense and range across more than one project type (for example hospitality, residential, township or public space)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp, plus at least one rendering or presentation tool (Lumion, Enscape, Photoshop or similar)
- Experience presenting to clients, with clear and polished verbal and written communication
- Basic working knowledge of plants, covering what suits which conditions (extensive horticulture expertise is not required)
- Comfort with site visits and working with contractors
Nice to have:
- A qualification in Landscape Architecture (strong advantage)
- Revit or Illustrator experience
- Knowledge of irrigation, drainage and outdoor lighting
- Familiarity with plants and conditions suited to Mumbai and the western coastal region
