About the role
Duties
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logisitics, Base Kodiak, Personnel Support Department, in Kodiak, AK.
Performing a variety of maintenance and operator tasks in accomplishing the mission of Morale, Well-Being and Recreation Division (MWR), at USCG Base Kodiak, Alaska.
Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
- Receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse, or storage yard, moving equipment, and delivering supplies.
- Moving controls to drive gasoline or electric powered trucks, cars, or tractors and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
- Insuring MWR vehicles, generators, fuel tanks, (and other equipment) receives scheduled refueling and service maintenance in compliance with maintenance schedules as generated by authorized vehicle equipment shops, or manufacturer’s warranty schedules.
- Answering telephones to provide information and receive orders in those facilities. Keeping record of transactions and the number of customers entering an establishment while assisting in MWR facilities.
Qualifications

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
