Laboratory Systems Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, In- Onsite
The Laboratory Systems Specialist supports laboratory, quality, and manufacturing IT systems in a GxP-regulated pharmaceutical/biotech environment in a Indianapolis manufacturing site.
The role is primarily hands-on and onsite , combining IT support, laboratory systems administration, system implementation, validation/qualification, and compliance documentation .
Main responsibilities
- Support laboratory instruments, computers, software, workstations, and connected systems .
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues for laboratory users.
- Assist with system implementations, workstation builds, upgrades, migrations, patches, and vendor installations .
- Execute and document CSV/CSA, qualification, testing, change controls, and risk assessments .
- Support GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, data integrity, and audit readiness activities.
- Coordinate with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Quality, Validation, laboratory users, and vendors .
- Maintain technical documentation, system records, procedures, and implementation evidence.
- Assist with backup/recovery, cybersecurity remediation, endpoint management, and disaster recovery .
- Track project tasks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables while escalating technical risks appropriately.
Ideal candidate
They are looking for someone with roughly 3–5 years of experience supporting IT/laboratory/manufacturing systems in a regulated environment , with strong hands-on troubleshooting skills.
The strongest background would include:
- LIMS or laboratory informatics
- Laboratory instrument software/workstations
- Windows and Active Directory
- Networking and endpoint management
- Computer System Validation (CSV) / Computer Software Assurance (CSA)
- GxP and 21 CFR Part 11
- GAMP 5
- Change control and qualification
- Vendor coordination and system implementations
- Strong technical documentation and communication
