Laboratory Assistant

About This Role

This laboratory assistant role involves supporting the testing and analysis of construction materials in both lab and field environments. The position is well-suited for someone with experience in materials testing who is detail-oriented and capable of working in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the testing, sampling, and examination of construction materials in both field and laboratory settings
• Transport material samples and ensure all required documentation is properly submitted to the laboratory
• Record, compile, and support the analysis of test results in accordance with established procedures
• Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping of laboratory equipment
• Support administrative tasks including documentation, reporting, and coordination with external parties
• Assist with translation of documents when necessary
• Carry out ad-hoc assignments and urgent tasks as required

Requirements

• Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in construction materials testing or laboratory environment
• Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken) is required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients
• Possess a valid driving license and willing to travel to project sites when required
• Willing to work overtime to meet project deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
