Laboratory Analyst

About This Role

This laboratory analyst position supports the testing workflow in a fast-paced cannabis analytical laboratory, assisting with sample preparation and instrument operation. The role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in laboratory procedures and data analysis within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cannabis samples, reagents, standards, and dilutions following established SOPs
• Operate and assist with analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, and PCR systems
• Accurately weigh, aliquot, digest, extract, and homogenize samples
• Document all work in the LIMS system and maintain proper chain-of-custody
• Frequently work in Microsoft Excel for data entry, calculations, and daily reporting
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Occasionally work with solvents, acids, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals using proper PPE and fume hoods
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized laboratory workspaces at all times

Requirements

• Ability to pass a background screening as required per MN Statutes chapter 342, regarding cannabis testing facilities
• Demonstrated proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), laboratory techniques, and analysis skills
• Excellent attention to detail with strong math skills for data analysis and interpretation
• Ability to follow detailed laboratory procedures accurately while maintaining high standards of quality control

Nice to have:

• 2 years of lab experience
• Prior experience working within a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical or veterinary laboratories
