Laboratory Analyst

About This Role

Working in a laboratory setting, the Laboratory Analyst conducts testing on various samples according to international and in-house methods. This role involves maintaining daily lab operations and ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing of consumer/retail, food, or environmental and health samples in accordance with international standard or in-house methods
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the laboratory
• Participate in all technical functions in accordance with ISO 17025 standard
• Perform chemical laboratory testing activities, such as testing on the bench
• Ensure that all equipment is qualified and maintained at scheduled intervals according to the procedure or method
• Conduct regular chemical and consumables inventory checks
• Promote good housekeeping and a safe system of work
• Apply judgment and act according to SGS standards of ethics and integrity

Requirements

• Nitec in Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent
• Able to maintain the highest quality standard at all times
• Able to maintain good turnaround time (TAT) and on-time delivery (OTD)
• Able to work independently and to coordinate several activities simultaneously
• Works well under pressure, challenges status quo

Nice to have:

• Prior experience in a laboratory environment
