Labor & Employment Associate
A leading global law firm is seeking a 4th–6th year Associate to join its Labor, Employment & Workplace Safety practice in Newark. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated employment litigation, investigations, counselling and transactional employment matters within a highly regarded national platform.
The role offers broad exposure to employment disputes, workplace investigations, employment policy development and the employment aspects of corporate transactions, while providing significant client contact and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise employers on complex labor and employment matters
- Handle employment litigation and workplace investigations
- Draft and review employment policies, agreements and related documentation
- Counsel clients on workplace compliance and risk management issues
- Support the employment aspects of mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions
- Conduct legal research and draft substantive legal memoranda and filings
- Work directly with clients on strategic employment issues and disputes
Who You Are
- 4th–6th year associate
- Experience advising, litigating and investigating labor and employment matters
- Experience drafting and reviewing employment-related documents and policies
- Exposure to employment issues arising in business transactions preferred
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-starter who works effectively both independently and collaboratively
Compensation Salary Range: $220,000 – $250,000 (DOE)
