The Kunan Challenge Is The Most Important And High-profile Annual Award For Social Entrepreneurship In Peru. Its Main Objective Is To Offer Social Enterprises The Opportunities They Need To Consolidate Their Model And Reach Their Full Potential. It Also Seeks To
- To position entrepreneurship as a tool for social change, bringing together stories of entrepreneurs who today exercise their right to transform their environment, and with it, our country.
- Identify the greatest diversity of social enterprises at the national level that are addressing the most relevant social problems for the development of Peru.
- Offer comments or feedback from the technical evaluation committee to applicant ventures that meet the minimum application requirements.
- To recognize social enterprises that stand out for being innovative, scalable and sustainable, and together with them promote a culture of management and measurement of social impact in this type of initiative.
- Awarding a Grand Prize thanks to Help Peru and Movistar amounting to S/50,000, as well as technical support from NESsT - international investor and accelerator of social ventures, to the innovative social venture.
- Award prizes for thematic categories promoted by AFP Integra, Parque Arauco, Cálidda, Danper, Fundación Belcorp, TASA and Sodimac & Maestro.
- To offer the possibility of being considered to be part of the NESsT Portfolio.
- To provide a collaborative and learning space for the Grand Prize and Category finalists, challenging entrepreneurs to solve, with the help of the best mentors and specialists, the main challenges facing their organizations.
- To consolidate an ecosystem that supports social entrepreneurship and will be enriched each year with a network of actors committed to the growth and multiplication of this type of initiative.
For the purposes of the Kunan Challenge, any proposal aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is considered relevant. Likewise, special attention is given to catalytic social enterprises that present an innovative business model with the potential for scalability and self-sustainability.
This year, the Kunan Challenge features eight (8) categories through which eighteen (18) Kunan Challenge Category finalists will be selected, thanks to the companies sponsoring thematic categories of the 2022 Kunan Challenge: AFP Integra, Parque Arauco, Cálidda, Danper, Fundación Belcorp, TASA, Sodimac & Maestro, and Delosi & Sodexo. Each category will have two finalists—except for the “Retail Entrepreneurship” category (sponsored by Parque Arauco), which will have four finalists.
In total, the 2022 Kunan Challenge will have a total of twenty-eight (28) finalists: ten from the Kunan Grand Prix and eighteen from the Categories.
