Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth food preparation and service, contributing to the overall guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen eye for cleanliness and organisation. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
• Support chefs with cooking duties as required, ensuring timely and efficient meal production.
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to high hygiene standards.
• Restock supplies and organise storage areas to ensure all ingredients and equipment are readily available.
• Support in waste disposal and recycling processes to uphold environmental standards.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service periods when necessary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards is advantageous.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Reliable team player with a positive attitude towards work.
• Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if needed.
