Junior Sommelier & Sommelier

About This Role

This role is for a Junior Sommelier or Sommelier to join a close-knit wine team at a new wine bar in Oslo, aiming to become a leading establishment. The position involves creating memorable guest experiences through wine and hospitality, guiding guests through the wine list, and presenting and serving wine with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Create personal and memorable guest experiences through wine and hospitality
• Guide guests through the wine list and recommend wines based on food, occasion, and individual preferences
• Present and serve wine with professionalism and attention to detail
• Work with food and wine pairings in close collaboration with the wine team and kitchen
• Maintain high standards in wine service, storage, and daily operations
• Take an active part in training, tastings, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to wine tastings, events, and the overall development of the guest experience

Requirements

• Passionate about wine, food, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences
• Relevant experience from a restaurant, wine bar, or hotel, preferably within a quality-driven concept
• Curious about wine and motivated to continuously develop knowledge
• Understanding of food and wine pairing, or a strong desire to develop within this area
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with high standards and strong professional ambitions
• Humble, eager to learn, and enjoys being part of a team
• Communicates well in English

Nice to have:

• Norwegian or another Scandinavian language

For Junior Sommelier:

• Basic understanding of wine

For Sommelier:

• CMS certification
• Strong knowledge of the classical wine regions of the world
