Junior Design Engineer

About This Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to develop their technical skills, gain hands-on experience, and build a long-term career within machinery design. As a Junior Design Engineer, you will work alongside an experienced engineering team, supporting the design and development of bespoke machinery and mechanical equipment across the full lifecycle. This role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, understanding how things work, and seeing their designs brought to life.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop machinery, equipment, and mechanical assemblies
• Assist with manufacturing drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
• Ensure designs meet project specifications and manufacturing requirements
• Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, and project delivery
• Develop technical knowledge across the full design lifecycle

Requirements

• Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline
• Some experience using SolidWorks, and a desire to learn it (in-house training provided)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and communicate design ideas
• Methodical approach to problem-solving and good attention to detail
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Clients are unable to offer sponsorship for employment visas

• Work format: hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
