Junior Accountant

About This Role

Joining the internal accounting team, the Junior Accountant will manage daily accounting and financial activities. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process purchase orders, invoices, expense forms, requests, and payments
• Manage supplier invoice registration and payment preparation
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly
• Enter expense and cost allocations in the ERP to support Operating Expenses Budget to Actual financial reporting
• Check bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and prepare payments
• Manage, review, and process employee expense reports and reimbursements
• Support debt collection for late accounts
• Drive month-end closing processes to achieve accurate and timely reporting
• Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance advisor
• Act as a liaison with clients, addressing inquiries with professionalism in both Greek and English
• Maintain clear and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely with the Senior Financial Analyst to ensure accurate financial operations and monthly reporting
• Contribute ideas for improving accounting practices and workflows

Requirements

• University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a multinational environment
• Good knowledge of PC and ERP systems
• Familiarity with accounting software, especially Pylon, is a plus
• Familiarity with MS Office applications, with emphasis on MS Excel (Pivots, V-Look Up)
• Proficiency in Google Sheets, Pivot Tables, and Excel
• Good knowledge of Hellenic Chart of Accounts and Hellenic Code of Books & Records
• Excellent command of English and accounting/finance terminology
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and finance regulations
• Very good communication, both verbally and in writing, in Greek and English
