This journeyman plumber role is with a small, locally owned plumbing and heating company. It suits a dependable plumber who takes pride in their work, is reliable, and wants to be part of a good crew.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, gas piping systems, and HVAC components in accordance with local building codes and project plans
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute plumbing layouts and system designs
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to assemble and install plumbing components efficiently
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on existing plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with construction teams, carpenters, HVAC technicians, and field service personnel to coordinate project timelines and resolve technical issues promptly
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations during all phases of work to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Perform heavy lifting, remodeling tasks, pipe installation, and assembly work as needed on construction sites or during maintenance projects
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in residential and commercial plumbing projects
- Knowledge of plumbing building codes, local building codes, mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems, and building code compliance standards
- Experience with maintenance, repair operations (MRO), system troubleshooting, and plumbing system maintenance
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and material estimations
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- English (Required)
Nice to have:
- Carpentry skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one for site transportation needs
