Journeyman Electrician

About This Role

Working as a Journeyman Electrician at MGS Corp. involves assisting with electrical needs in residential, commercial, or industrial settings, while providing industry-leading customer service. Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications to determine layout of electrical installations
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical and electronic control systems and devices
• Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
• Maintain the work area in a clean and safety conscious manner
• Assist in training and supervising apprentice electricians

Requirements

• Valid Ontario or interprovincial journeyman electrical construction/maintenance Certification of Qualification
• Minimum 5 years experience within the electrical trade
• Valid G class Ontario driver's license
• Current driver's abstract
• Clean criminal record
• Current CPIC
• Proficient in English (written and oral)
• Thorough knowledge of technical repairs and procedures

Important Details

• Schedule: flexibility required to accommodate varying job requirements; overtime may be required at any time
• Travel: may be required, occasionally, to travel some distance to reach work site, and in extraneous circumstances, may be required to work away from home for an extended period of time
