Abound Health is seeking a motivated and supportive Job Coach / Supported Employment Specialist to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in achieving success in competitive, community-based employment. This part-time role is ideal for someone who is patient, encouraging, and passionate about helping others build independence through meaningful work.

Position Details

  • Part-Time (flexible hours based on client needs)
  • Service Area: Monroe County & surrounding communities
  • Certifications: ACRE or CESP preferred, but not required
  • Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 for qualified candidates

About The Role As a Job Coach / Supported Employment Specialist, you will work directly with individuals seeking employment or currently employed in the community. You will provide on-the-job coaching, skill-building, workplace communication support, and employer collaboration to help individuals succeed in their roles.

This position is community-based, with work occurring at job sites, in the community, and occasionally in the home for job-readiness activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-job coaching and workplace skill development
  • Support individuals in learning job tasks, routines, and expectations
  • Assist with job readiness activities (applications, interviews, resumes)
  • Communicate with employers to ensure workplace success
  • Promote independence, confidence, and self-advocacy
  • Document progress, goals, and service notes accurately and on time
  • Help individuals build soft skills such as communication, time management, and problem-solving
  • Maintain a professional, person-centered approach

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license & active auto insurance
  • Ability to pass background and registry checks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in community settings
  • Reliable transportation
  • ACRE or CESP certification preferred, but not required (training opportunities available)

Compensation & Benefits

  • $1,000 Sign-On Bonus (paid in installments)

Sign-On Bonus Details

  • $333 after 90 days (20 hours/week)
  • $333 after 6 months (20 hours/week)
  • $334 after 1 year (20 hours/week)
  • Not available for RAP or Residential Services hires
  • Must not have worked for Abound Health or affiliates within the last 18 months
