About This Role
This janitorial role involves cleaning and maintaining factory working areas, washrooms, offices, and other commercial establishments. The work includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors, as well as removing trash and other related duties. ServiceSource is a nonprofit agency that champions people with disabilities, and this role contributes to strengthening communities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture, and carpeting including carpet scrubbing; resupplying rest rooms; replacing light bulbs
- Maintain building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash; replacing light bulbs
- Remove trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; collecting recycling materials
- Keep cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines; completing operator repairs and parts replacement
- Maintain parts and equipment inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed parts; anticipating cleaning equipment replacement; placing orders
- Maintain safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred
- At least one (1) year custodial experience preferred
- Ability to understand and follow direction
- Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
- Good oral/verbal communication skills
