Janitor

About This Role

This janitor position involves general cleaning and maintenance of an office and plant facility, ensuring it remains in good condition. The role suits a detail-oriented individual with experience in janitorial duties and basic building upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sweeping around the plant
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
• Clean and maintain restrooms
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Conduct basic building maintenance and inspections as needed
• Contact local firms for regular building maintenance
• Set and disarm building alarms
• Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
• Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
• Perform any other duties as assigned or needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of janitorial experience and/or building maintenance
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
• Good organization skills
• Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
• Excellent time-management skills
• General knowledge of building maintenance
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Ability to walk the plant throughout the day cleaning and sweeping

Nice to have:

• Specialized sewing equipment maintenance

• Positional: Driving in accordance with job duties assigned. Infrequent standing and walking. Constant sitting.
• Gross Mobility: Rare climbing or crawling. Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Sensory: Rare tasting/smelling. Infrequent use of color vision. Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. Frequent use of near and midrange visual acuity, and visual accommodation. Frequent talking.
