Janitor

About This Role

Joining a group of passionate advocates on a mission to improve the lives of youth, the Janitor is a key member of the Ancillary Team, performing tasks related to maintaining the cleanliness of the facility. This role offers the unique opportunity to create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for the youth served, while building a career rich in growth opportunities and self-fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize staff bathrooms
• Vacuum, steam clean, and/or shampoo carpets, including stain removal
• Clean, wax, and strip tile and linoleum floors
• Clean windows, sills, and window tracks
• Remove garbage
• Clean out heater vents
• Clean walkways, driveways, parking lots, and loading docks

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (not required)
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
• Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry
• Must meet requirements to become an ROP eligible driver, including having an active Driver’s License

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, early morning (6 AM - 2 PM)

Rite of Passage Team operates The Arkansas Juvenile Assessment and Treatment Center (AJATC), a secure residential program for at-risk male and female youth. Located on 110 acres just outside of Little Rock, AR, AJATC promotes a normalized high school experience, offers a safe environment, and provides opportunities for positive change, as well as providing unlimited potential for achievement and growth for students and staff. The campus features residential student dormitories, an on-site school and library, a vocational training program, a chapel, a gymnasium, medical facilities, and an outdoor recreation area.
