Janitor

About This Role

This full-time janitor position is for an experienced and hardworking individual to join the Environmental Services team at a skilled nursing facility. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, with a strong emphasis on professional floor care.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance throughout the facility
• Strip, wax, buff, scrub, refinish, and otherwise maintain floors using commercial floor care equipment
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions in resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other designated spaces
• Follow established infection control procedures and healthcare sanitation standards
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain equipment and supplies
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and areas requiring attention
• Follow facility policies and procedures to support resident safety and regulatory compliance
• Assist the Environmental Services team with other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous janitorial experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and refinishing, is required
• Knowledge of commercial floor care equipment and cleaning chemicals
• Understanding of infection control and sanitation practices
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities efficiently
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating floor care equipment
• Janitorial experience: 1 year (Required)
• Floor care experience: 1 year (Required)
• English language (Required)
