IT Support Specialist

About This Role

This IT Support Specialist role is for an engaged professional to strengthen the IT team of an internationally successful and growth-oriented medical technology company. The specialist will act as a competent point of contact for employees and ensure the smooth operation of the IT workplace environment.

Responsibilities

• Support employees with technical questions and troubleshoot hardware, software, workplace technologies, and network connections
• Process and prioritize support requests, document solutions, and ensure timely processing or escalation
• Handle IT-side setup and deactivation of user accounts, mailboxes, access rights, and workplace equipment
• Administer user accounts, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, security groups, and application permissions according to internal guidelines
• Install, configure, and manage hardware and software solutions in local and cloud-based IT environments
• Manage the entire lifecycle of IT hardware, from procurement and inventory to provision, replacement, and warranty processing
• Support the monitoring of security-relevant messages, compliance with access policies, and data protection and SOX compliance requirements
• Participate in regular operating system updates, patch deployments, and maintenance measures
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge databases, manuals, and troubleshooting guides
• Coordinate external IT service providers and suppliers and support the IT team in projects and continuous improvement of internal processes

Requirements

• Completed IT training, for example as an IT specialist for system integration, or a comparable qualification
• Ideally at least 5 years of professional experience in IT support, IT helpdesk, end-user support, or a comparable position
• Experience in supporting users, preferably in an international corporate environment
• Good knowledge of Microsoft-based IT environments and experience in user and authorization management
• Experience with ticket management systems, remote support tools, and the installation and configuration of hardware and software
• Knowledge of email, communication, and collaboration platforms
• Experience in IT asset management, including inventory and hardware management
• Basic knowledge of network technology and error analysis, ideally also in handling Cisco network technologies
• Knowledge in the areas of endpoint management, endpoint security, and IT monitoring
• Experience with local and cloud-based IT infrastructures
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills
