IT Specialist (INFOSEC)

Duties

You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) as the Installation Information Assurance Security Manager (IISSM) with technical and management abilities responsible for Cyber Security (CS) planning, managing, implementing, and assessment. Assists Division Chief in areas of CS compliance, assessment, enforcement, incident reporting, analysis, and resolution. You will develop, staff, manage, enforce, and assess implementation of Cyber Security plans. You will ensure security violations and incidents are reported to appropriate authorities and assist with the investigation. You will ensure that an adequately trained information systems security infrastructure exists to effectively implement information assurance policies and requirements. You will coordinate certification and accreditation activities with the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC), 106th Signal Brigade, 7th Signal Command, and the Authorizing Officer (OA). You will participate in meetings, conferences and work groups addressing Information Assurance (IA) issues.

Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR): You MUST have IT-related experience that demonstrates each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail (through when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail); Customer Service (works with clients and customers - that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government - to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations, knows about available products and services, is committed to providing quality products and services); Oral Communication (expresses information - for example, ideas or facts - to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information - for example, technical, sensitive, controversial - makes clear and convincing oral presentations, listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately); Problem Solving (identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations).

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as performing the following tasks:   as part of a team, responsible for managing and monitoring the accreditation process, network security, and information systems security programs; provide advisory for information systems security (INFOSEC); provide guidance, policies, and procedures for the security of sensitive and classified information processes; conduct information assurance (IA) reviews and audits; and perform appropriate monitoring and scanning of network resources.
