About This Role
This IT Project Manager role supports modernization efforts for a DoD-classified enterprise network, focusing on implementation planning, technical integration, and coordination. The position suits an experienced project manager with a background in delivering complex projects in secure environments and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the direction of a project through design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives
- Define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment
- Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables
- Maintain structured project documentation, including charters, plans, briefings, risk registers, change requests, and executive status reports
- Monitor progress against baselines and proactively identify risks, issues, and dependency conflicts across multiple enterprise workstreams
- Ensure all project actions comply with DoD cybersecurity, accreditation, and configuration management requirements
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams and leadership, translating complex technical considerations into clear operational impacts
- Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking, analysis, and reporting, producing top quality products for the customer
- Research and choose the best, technically feasible solution that meets customer requirements
Requirements
- High School diploma with 6 - 9 years of commensurate experience
- Clearance: TS/SCI
- Managing multiple, complex, technical projects
- Planning and estimating work requirements
- Familiarity with DoD lifecycle processes, requirements management frameworks, and enterprise architecture principles
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Demonstrated experience creating or managing enterprise implementation plans for large technical deployments
- Strong understanding of enterprise networks, service integration, incident/service management, and secure IT operations
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence)
- DOD 8140 IAT II (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND)
- Strong problem solving and good communication skills
- Experience with agile or other project management methodologies
- A collaborative mindset and ability to build strong working relationships
- Proactive approach to anticipating project needs and solving challenges
- Flexibility and adaptability when project requirements evolve
