IT Operations Manager - Data Center

About This Role

This IT Operations Manager role involves leading round-the-clock data center operations, managing a three-shift onsite team, and ensuring the safe and reliable functioning of systems, assets, and procedures. The position requires hands-on work and strong leadership to maintain operational excellence in a high-performance AI infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily onsite operations and handle hands-on work, including installation, cabling, asset checks, spare parts management, and basic troubleshooting with remote guidance
• Assign and prioritize tickets, track progress, and escalate complex issues to remote specialists
• Plan the three-shift roster (handovers, rest days, and leave; no back-to-back 8-hour shifts) and step in to cover absences and skill gaps
• Keep asset, spare parts, incident, and change records accurate, and enforce site safety, access, and handover rules
• Maintain SOPs, work instructions, and the knowledge base, including incident fixes and lessons learned
• Collaborate with data center staff, suppliers, and remote teams on repairs, replacements, deliveries, and recovery
• Provide 24/7 onsite coverage on a three-shift roster of 8-hour shifts, normally five per week (40 hours), while managing reporting duties
• Track team performance across roster coverage, attendance, case handling, service quality, and record accuracy
• Coach team members, maintain the skills matrix, and arrange cross-training
• Report weekly to the CTO on staffing, incidents, open and closed cases, overtime, equipment, and risks, and meet weekly to discuss priorities and improvements
• Escalate major issues promptly

Requirements

• Hands-on IT operations experience; team supervision or shift coordination experience preferred working in a data center
• Basic knowledge of servers, networking, cabling, assets, and spare parts; able to follow SOPs and remote guidance
• Skilled at planning rosters, coordinating people, managing performance, and preparing clear reports and accurate records
• Basic understanding of ITIL concepts, including incident, problem, and change management
• Comfortable with SOPs, work instructions, and knowledge base upkeep, including sharing lessons learned
• Based in Bangkok or nearby, and available for assigned day and night shifts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with GPU environments, RMA, ticketing, and inventory tools

• Work outside Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00 is compensated at 2x the regular hourly wage
• Work on Thai public holidays is compensated at 3x the regular hourly wage. The holiday rate applies when both could apply, and any higher legal requirement takes priority
