IT Manager

About This Role

Leading the technology infrastructure and data security for a fast-growing startup is the core of this IT Manager role. This hands-on position involves building the IT function from the ground up, performing day-to-day IT tasks, and eventually building and leading a team. The role requires working across multiple sites and time zones, partnering closely with engineering to support Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a small, talented IT support and systems team
• Define, plan, and manage IT infrastructure, cloud services, and local office networks, scaling for fast growth
• Secure valuable intellectual property
• Support EDA tool environments and HPC clusters
• Manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, and hardware/software licensing
• Support ERP rollout, integration, customizations and maintenance
• Respond to incoming IT helpdesk support requests and provide timely resolution to issues
• Define, maintain and enforce strong cybersecurity, backup, and data protection compliance policies
• Provide ongoing training and support to staff members
• Work across SharePoint, MS365, Epicor Kinetics and Salesforce environments
• Deploy new user accounts and laptops (until the team is built out)
• Troubleshoot Windows 365 Cloud PC connection and performance issues (until the team is built out)
• Reset passwords and manage account access (until the team is built out)
• Assign licenses and guide users on setup (until the team is built out)
• Track and resolve support tickets via our helpdesk system (until the team is built out)
• Manage hardware refreshes and repairs and coordinate with hardware suppliers on warranty issues and purchasing (until the team is built out)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• 8+ years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in a management role
• Experience in a start-up or high-tech engineering and/or high growth environment
• Experience with secure Windows Cloud Environments, Windows Server, Windows 10/11, MS365, ERPs (Epicor preferred)
• Strong cybersecurity, backup, and data protection compliance experience
• Ability and experience successfully assessing an organization’s IT needs and building a team to deliver on those requirements
• Hands-on mindset, especially as the team grows coupled with the ability and willingness to roll up your sleeves as required
• Can-do, go-getter attitude that thrives in a dynamic environment
