About This Role
This IT Director role involves leading the company's technology operations, infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and digital initiatives. The position suits an experienced and strategic IT professional.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives
- Oversee the company’s networks, servers, cloud and on-premise infrastructure, databases, and business applications
- Ensure system availability, data security, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity
- Lead IT projects from planning and budgeting to implementation and completion
- Manage IT support services, ticket resolution, preventive maintenance, and technology assets
- Strengthen cybersecurity measures, endpoint protection, access controls, and compliance standards
- Evaluate software, systems, vendors, and third-party IT service providers
- Maintain updated IT policies, technical documentation, network diagrams, and recovery procedures
- Partner with department heads to identify technology needs and implement system improvements
- Lead, coach, and develop the IT team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, or a related course
- At least five years of IT managerial or leadership experience
- Retail industry experience is preferred
- Strong experience managing cloud and on-premise servers, networks, databases, and enterprise applications
- Knowledge of POS, lending, inventory management, SAP, and e-commerce systems
- Strong background in cybersecurity, threat detection, encryption, access control, endpoint security, and compliance
- Proficient in Windows Server, Linux Server, virtualization, MySQL, or MariaDB
- Knowledge of IT service management, ticketing systems, backup processes, and disaster recovery
- Experience in project management, vendor negotiation, contract management, and vendor performance evaluation
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence platforms
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Nice to have:
- AWS, Microsoft, server, or cybersecurity certifications
- A master’s degree
